AB is the key creative partner for Flybe and Flybe Aviation Services. We work on internal and external projects plus with key partners such as Logan Air and Avios to deliver effective campaigns to promote new flying routes and promotions across the UK and Europe.
AB’s role is a combination of strategic projects and day-to-day implementation. Projects include planning, advertising (TV, press, radio, digital), airport rebranding, merchandise, exhibitions, film, partnership activity (Avios / UK airports) and print. In a fast moving sector like aviation we have to be creative, responsive and accurate. That’s what we do best.
One of AB’s most iconic campaigns for flybe was to develop a national ad campaign to launch six new routes to London City. The challenges were to make travellers reappraise and take notice of the way they travel to London, to make them consider the plane rather than the train. And secondly, how do we re-educate the public when the short, cheaper and quicker route appears to be via train or car? Flybe regularly challenge AB to deliver new, innovative ideas and we always strive to excel their expectations.
To go national and local. We created bespoke print ads in very localised niche titles and used specific local place names to draw commuters in. Make them feel that they could fly direct to London from even their village or suburb. We also put together an ambitious stunt at Exeter Train Station, giving commuters the best start and end to the day and, above all, disrupting and creating enough noise to attract the media. Our two minute film posted on YouTube received over 60,000 views and counting. Coverage in key publications / websites writing about the event from the Daily Mail to the Western Morning News to the Daily Telegraph.
