BPL, Bio Products Laboratory, is a leading pharma company that supplies high-quality plasma-derived medicines to clinicians, patients and customers globally.
Although BPL has a rich heritage, dating back to 1954, they realised that their existing website needed a refresh as it no longer represented their personality or purpose. This is why they approached AB to redesign their website to bring it back to life and appeal to their target markets.

Not only did the new website need to appeal to these markets but BPL recognised they needed to improve their recruitment marketing to appeal to potential new employees. Their existing recruitment website was not linked to their main site and caused a confusing candidate journey.
Improving design and security
The existing BPL website used an old, bespoke CMS with limited functionality and unsupported software. The site also wasn’t optimised for mobile or tablet use – something that’s important given how many visitors use these devices. On top of that, the site lacked secure certificates and Cloudflare protection, making it more vulnerable.
Our mission was to create a modern, secure platform that represented BPL as the brand that it was in the present, while nodding to its history. It needed to have an easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) and look great on mobile, tablet, laptop, and desktop devices. Plus, it had to meet all the pharmaceutical industry and GDPR requirements.
We stepped in with our structured development process to sort things out. We designed a clear and logical site architecture, making it a breeze for BPL’s key audiences to find the information they needed.
Our new design featured a modern, secure platform with a user-friendly CMS, ensuring the site looked and worked well on all devices, while allowing the BPL team to easily update content whenever they need to.

We also designed a dedicated recruitment page to showcase what an interesting and diverse place BPL is to work. Highlighting their core values, we emphasised the pride in being part of a company that manufactures medicine to improve patients’ lives. The site reflected BPL’s friendly environment where colleagues support each other, making it an inviting place for potential candidates.
The updated careers section boosted visibility of BPL’s careers offering and helped candidates gain a better understanding of life at the company. By improving search engine performance via engaging careers content, we ensured that more jobseekers could find and explore the exciting opportunities available, making it easier for them to attract top talent.
Bringing the branding together
In addition to refreshing BPL’s website, our talented design team worked their magic to overhaul the brand. We developed a sleek new logo, crafted brand guidelines, and designed new brochures, exhibition stands, pull-up banners and ads. We also created a fresh, professional PowerPoint presentation and templates to help BPL communicate their message effectively to key audiences.
Our efforts extended to brand rationalisation for their product range, ensuring cohesive logos, colour schemes, packaging, and literature. This unified approach made sure that everything from the website to product packaging conveyed a strong, consistent brand message.
